Topographical Features

TopoPrint

Here's the print after an impression I took tonight from the second block. Carving topographical features like this takes forever, but it's these very features that give the map prints their veracity as maps so I can't forgo these details. I love how this layer gives the print so much depth. Next I'll be starting carving on a third block and adding some human characters to the scene.

you´re so right about the depth in the print...I gives so much together with the first blocks already...just love it....I´m happy following these processes on your blog...

Looking good, the green drops back nicely but fits perfectly with the other colors. Are you custom mixing or going straight from the bottle?

Thank you both. Anita, I'm happy that you visit here! The internet makes Denmark and Massachusetts seem so close.
Diana, I often tinker with the colors from the bottle. I think I made this green from 3 different colors. I want all of these layers to be a little ghost-like and to float so that it's not clear what's on top of what.

Hmm, yes, it is different, of course, small and on a screen, but depending on where I look the green is back or middle or forward.......
