Facebook and Twitter

There seems to be a kind of mass movement, at least among my own friends and acquaintances, to social networking sites.

Facebook, which I always thought of as a place for kids, is now peppered with people my age finding old pals or even linking up with people who live just down the street.

Twitter is a strange little application that I'm also playing around with. It's like mini-blogging. I'm not quite sure if I like it, seeing as how I'm not a person short on words and Twitter only gives you 140 characters per "tweet." But Yoko Ono twitters and we're "following" each other, so that's pretty cool.

I'm looking for printmakers to connect with on these sites, so here's my info if you'd like to Facebook or Twitter with me:
I really should get off the computer and go make some prints now...

Hi Annie, I'm not a printmaker per se, but I do think like one! I've been following your blog because I love Moko Hanga, Japanese traditional craft, and other woodblock printing. I use many handcut stencils in my work on fabric. Anyway I'm new to the social media thing also, like many people in our generation but I think it has potential for connecting with people who value your work as well as potential customers. So, I'm now following you on Twitter.

Hi Kit. Thanks for linking up with me on Twitter. Of course you're a printmaker -- stencils, resists, pigments... sounds like printmaking to me!

Hello Annie. I'm still up in the air on Twitter. I've been using it for the past year to keep up with a couple of friends. In that respect, the 140 character limit is nice, although sometimes a challenge.

I don't know what's going on with Facebook...over the past six weeks or so I have had at least a dozen people tell me how much I need to get a Facebook page, and that they can't believe I don't already have one. It has become quite the rage among fortysomethings around here. So far I have resisted, although I almost did it last weekend. Flickr, Twitter, a couple of blogs, a website, soon Etsy, keeping up with my RSS feeds...I don't know how much more internet/computing I can handle! And with 50+ hours a week doing computer architectural illustration to pay the bills, I need a little time to try and become a printmaker.

Not a printmaker, but I love your work--and I bought one of your prints a couple of years ago. I'm facebooking you!

Hi Annie, I stumbled onto your site a few months ago, enjoyed the prose and the pictures, and forgot about it until today. I do make prints, mostly drypoint etchings but sometimes woodblocks as well. I really enjoy your posts as well as your artwork.
I looked up your name on Facebook as the link didn't work for me and found more than a few Annies. Feel free to add me if you like, my name is Kelsey Foreman, from Ottawa.
