I find your thoughts, and the quotation, about labor so fitting and something I can relate to with my (also) very labor-intensive process. Yes, there is always a quicker way, but I like to think that all of the moments that go into a piece, layered with thought and emotion, somehow leave their trail.Kithttp://www.kiteastman.com/silverminnow/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14184600.post-43314822642183809142009-09-20T01:30:52.298-04:002009-09-20T01:30:52.298-04:00I wholly agree with you. There's no doubt in my mind that the "spirit" that goes into the making of a print (or any artwork) is what marks it in some subtle way and gives it resonance.

But is this irrational?
Science has shown that everything in the universe is kinetic and emits energy in some way. On the basis of this, surely, how can the energy we expend into a piece of art not affect it before it flows back out again?Katkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07787758413391041363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14184600.post-71481765603646843252009-09-14T00:10:29.249-04:002009-09-14T00:10:29.249-04:00Wow, Annie! I am always glad i stop by woodblock dreams, I always leave feeling enriched and kinder somehow for knowing what you do and knowing you. It's been a while since I've come... thank you. I love your work. And, yes, I feel that all we breathe and think and do while we create our art is carried within the piece. None of these elements sprang from nothing; they all had to be invented, laboriously, by human hands.

The irony is, of course, that we see your artwork (so far, at least) in electronic form!Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06485410374923842372noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14184600.post-83479990680314711962009-09-10T16:32:55.048-04:002009-09-10T16:32:55.048-04:00Hi Annie !
