Interesting to find out that the cross didn't originally have associations with the crucifixion, isn't it?Annie Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00178236295806176573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14184600.post-22517583216698417092007-12-12T09:41:00.000-05:002007-12-12T09:41:00.000-05:00annie, are you using the 3 or the 6 mm hangi-to fo...annie, are you using the 3 or the 6 mm hangi-to for this border? i prefer using the flat blade as well, but i have the Power Grip set. i'm looking at ordering the Michi Hamano tools but don't know if i should get the 7 or the 12-set. bette.Bette Norcross Wappner --https://www.blogger.com/profile/04458670015305220788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14184600.post-45921368340237873622007-12-12T09:10:00.000-05:002007-12-12T09:10:00.000-05:00Annie,this sent me on quite an information hunt ab...Annie,
this sent me on quite an information hunt about the origination of the symbol for the cross...I am interested in early symbols so found it all pretty fascinating. I have a set of 12 Michi Hamono tools that I got from the Baren Mall that I use exclusively. For the detail work I use the hangi-to (flat knife) rather than gouges. I find that gouges often tear through tiny areas of wood and cause it to splinter while a knife is much more precise.Annie Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00178236295806176573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14184600.post-17116542458805098332007-12-12T07:16:00.000-05:002007-12-12T07:16:00.000-05:00Hang in there Annie, your work is really beautiful...Hang in there Annie, your work is really beautiful.pkbivinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04100661556877507054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14184600.post-82802957171479498642007-12-11T23:36:00.000-05:002007-12-11T23:36:00.000-05:00this detail work ROCKS. what brand and size carvin...this detail work ROCKS. what brand and size carving tool are you using for this?Bette Norcross Wappner --https://www.blogger.com/profile/04458670015305220788noreply@blogger.com
