Reducing Caleb and Joel

I'm doing the two figures by the reduction method (carve, print, cut more on the same block, print again with another color, etc.) Here are the next couple of stages:

Caleb&JoelInked
The first block inked with a pale wash of burnt sienna

Caleb&Joel#2
The burnt sienna printed

Caleb&JoelReduced1
The next reduction carved

Caleb&Joel#3
The reduction printed with a stronger tint of burnt sienna

At least one more reduction to come...

It's stunning, Annie... I know you plan another pass but this reads very well as is. I'm looking forward to what you do next.

I would be a nervous wreck cutting the block after printing. Everyone who uses the reduction method has my greatest respect. Can't wait to see the final product!

Thanks Diane. I'm hoping that someday I'll be able to leave things a little more "undone." I think it might be more interesting, but I've already set a kind of style for this series that I'm committed to.

pejnolan, don't be fooled by my calm & collected exterior. I AM a nervous wreck!
