Tea Print - Almost Done

Here are two more impressions, a brown to define the fingers and the tea and black on the teapot. I think the linework on the hands is improved from the first print. It's more delicate. It's hard to make really thin lines on shina plywood.

Printing the black was intense. This is a color from Guerra Paint called "carbon black" and it's blacker than any black I've ever seen. It was sucking the light right out of the room! I watered it down a bit to make it blend better with the rest of the print.

Hi Annie,

Well done, you have certainly managed to make a faithful reproduction of the photoshop composition. In which case I wonder if you know how to make a bokashi in photoshop? (probably you do). I am sure you would have your different colours on different layers. The linear gradient tool (G) will allow you to fade from a solid colour to transparent. You could, for instance, select the dark blue pattern of the background and have it fade away to the top of the picture. Of course this would be tricky to print, but it is fun to look at all the options on photoshop.
