What I remember about last year at this time is that it was really difficult to get any woodblock work done. With family obligations for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays plus the flurry of end-of-the-year projects I usually get from my illustration clients, there was little time or energy to work on my own projects. Last year I found the lack of time very frustrating, but I'm hoping that now that I know I probably won't get much work done until the new year I can relax and enjoy the lull. (Yes, I'm a workaholic.)

Good luck managing your frustration Annie! I understand how you feel, as I am often unable to work. Sometimes it helps me to remember how lucky I am to love my work the way I do...
IThere are a lot of us that feel the same frustration... I try to think of it as an artistic incubation, ready to burst forth with creative ideas when January rolls around... But be sure to write down your ideas during this time so they don't get lost! And a wonderful Thanksgiving to you, too, Annie!
I find it difficult to get any holiday duties done around my artmaking schedule ;^D All funning aside, grad school takes the fun out of the holidays because finals culminate the week before Christmas. Impossible to get any christmas shopping and shipping and decorating and carding done!
I'm glad to know I'm in good company. Thanks for the great reminders: to be grateful that I get to do work I love, to keep my sketchbook handy, and to be happy I'm not in grad school right now!
happy thanksgiving Annie! I hope you do relax some because I can just image that you are working out in your head the puzzle of creating these prints all the time, I expect that's a large part of the enjoyment of this process.
